About the event
⛰⛰ Waitakere Ranges is a chain of hills that was formed by a large volcano eruption 12-25 million year ago. It is 474 meters high and is home to some native species such as the Kauri Snail and the Giant Weta.
This Sunday for Nature Series, we meet in front of General Library on campus at 10am, where we will carpool together to the Arataki Visitor Centre. From there, you will have the option to break into smaller groups and hike some amazing tracks or see some breathtaking waterfalls! 🏞
Towards the late afternoon, we will reconvene as a group at Piha and have the opportunity to explore one of the world's famous black-sand beaches. 🏝
We will then provide a great kiwi classic sausage sizzle/BBQ* on the beach and watch the sunset from Lion Rock. 🌅
