Glenbrook Vintage Railway + Lighthouse

A unique slice of New Zealand’s cultural heritage, Glenbrook Vintage Railway is home to a rare collection of operational steam locomotives. Join SASS to ride in one of these special steam trains, and to see the inside of the Railway’s restoration workshop, run by volunteers.

As an added bonus, we will visit the nearby Awhitu Peninsula, stopping at a picturesque spot where the historic Manukau Heads Lighthouse presides! At over 140 years old, this lighthouse has many tales to tell and is one of very few New Zealand lighthouses open to visitors. From up inside, the views are fantastic!
